
Angst Lodge was built in 1960 by Ron Dickeson. Ron moved from Orange to the Hawkesbury district in the late 1950's. One of the most celebrated horses trained by Ron at Hawkesbury was Duo, who ran third to Galilee (JB Cummings) in the 1966 Melbourne Cup at Flemington VIC.
On The Way Home
Noel trained his first runner to be his first winner in November 1991. The horse was Dismasted (Arg). He had previously worked with his brother Brian at Nebo Lodge for 11 years, with horses of the calibre of Marauding (Golden Slipper), Bravery (Qld Derby, VRC and Qld Oaks), Diamond Shower (Sires Produce,VRC Oaks), Magic Flute (Doncaster), Handy Proverb (Dual Derby winner), Marooned and Late Show (Sydney Cup) and iron horse Colour Page (Sandown Cup). His brother Lawrence trains in Brisbane and his boutique stable has produced winners such as Sonata and Post Elect.
Emma Mayfield-Smith's father 'GW' or aka Willie Robinson was a Champion National Hunt Jockey in the late 50's early 60's and is the renowned jockey of Mill House, whose famous duals with Arkle are now folklore in any racing household.
Emma took out her trainer licence in 2007 just before EI hit New South Wales and continues the line of trainers in her families history.

HRC is one of the most progressive Provincial Race Clubs in the Southern Hemisphere.
Hawkesbury's racecourse training facilities can boast having the most modern training tracks of any provincial club in NSW, providing three fast tracks with the oldest being 2 years old and is well on a par with facilities offered by any city race club.
